Legislation is moving along for SB 872 and HB 2072 to extend the sunset of the Dry Cleaning Remediation Fund (DCRP) and keep it active. SDA President Danny Bahlman and Past President Allan Cripe gave testimony to the House Committee on Environmental Regulations concerning extending the DCRP with HB 2072. Bahlman and SDA 2nd Vice President Erika Paine testified before the Senate Committee on Business and Industry with no negative comments or feedback. The team also visited Rep. Drew Darby, San Angelo, Rep. Stan Lambert, Abilene (sponsor of HB 2072), as well as Rep. Brooks Landgraf, Odessa, Committee Chairman on Environmental Regulations.
Lobbyists received word from Senator Hancock's office over the weekend that the committee report filed shows SB 872 as being favorable from committee. The DCRP Coalition encourages you to contact your State Representative and State Senator asking for their support when the bills, HB 2072 and SB 872, reach their respective floors for action.
