The Southwest Drycleaners Association (SDA) is proud to announce that Raymond Farrell, owner of NuTone Cleaners, in Waco, TX, will represent SDA states in District 6 on the board of the Drycleaning & Laundry Institute International (DLI) as District Committee Member (DCM).
Farrell began his career working with Greg Salome at Vogue Cleaners in Waco, TX, in 1987. He opened a few stores from the ground up and attributes training from DLI (formerly known as IFI) as bolstering his knowledge, especially during those early years. In 2001 he purchased NuTone Cleaners and quickly provided restoration services during the ‘black mold craze’ in 2002. NuTone has been a part of CRDN since 2005, has one plant, three drop stores, routes and a commercial building for restoration.
“Having known Raymond for over 30 years, I can tell you with certainty that he, along with his wife Kerrie, have always operated their business with the highest ethical standards and foresight,” explains DLI Board Member and SDA Past President Allan Cripe. “Raymond was the first person I knew that installed a Metalprogetti assembly system. He has always understood that technology can and will make us better. Raymond is always looking towards the future and how he could help not only his business, but the industry overall.”
When asked about his new appointment, Farrell replied, “I am looking forward to understanding more about DLI and gaining more of a national perspective. I'm excited to work towards their goal of being the premier voice of the drycleaning industry."
